Halloween is on the wayyyyyy...........getting ready for our yearly party and decorating the yard and house, will share some photos soon.

this is an OTP item I did for a Maya Road contest, it was themed on summer

My latest project is this memo board from Kaisercraft, I just love the Basic grey lemonade papers and cherries are a fovourite of mine.

FATHERS DAY AT THE MOORES

We had a house full of celebrities on the weekend, Cameron and the kids umpire AFL and the local newspaper did a feature on "Fathers Day/AFL Umpiring Association".

Apparently not too many Dad's go out of their way to spend extra time with their kids and vice a versa (especially teenagers). And the fact Cameron and four of our kids are in the RUA and train/umpire together is a bit rare. We don't have that issue in our family as the saying goes the family who play together stay together. We do heaps of things together as a family like camping, go on regular trips here and there (the last one was to the MCG to watch Richmond beat Melbourne!!!! ok by one point, but they WON), we have picnics, play board games, have movie nights, the girls and I are in a craft group and Cameron and the boys stay at home and watch "Monkey" dvd's etc...

The Moore family have found an unorthodox way to spend quality time together.

While most families head to the movies or out for lunch, the Moore family each grab a whistle and take up arms at the region's Australian football grounds.

Five members of the Moore clan have taken up umpiring for the Riverina Umpires Association, and four of the whistle blowers will be officiating in the same game at Narrandera.

Cam Moore and his children Maddison, Rebecca, Chris and Jessica have been umpiring since Chris encouraged them all to get involved. Mr Moore had been an umpire in the region when he was growing up, and when Chris brought the idea of joining the association, her was eager to re-lace the boots.

"Chris came back from umpiring Paul Kelly Cup and wanted us to have a go," Mr Moore said.

"It has been a great way for the kids to be active and maintain fitness while getting a bit of cash on the side"
All the family come from a strong sporting background.

"Maddison played for the NSW baseball team last year, and all the kids have played sport," he said.

"But the kids have had many broken bones and this is a way to avoid injuries."

Jessica said Father's Day will be far from the relaxing recovery for her dad, and the central umpire for the under 17 years MCUE and Leeton clash.

"We will all get up early and jump on him, on his day to sleep in," she laughed

"Normally we go on a picnic on Fathers Day."

Jessica said she and her younger sisters do cop a bit of flak from the boys on the field.

"It's nothing we can't handle, we get picked on a bit but they are mostly pretty good," she said.

Maddison said her favourite part of the family activity was the power.

"I love being the one with the whistle," she said.

The Moore's have a second son Ben, who is a baker and works late.

Yay Maddy won "Best Recruit" in her cadet unit and is now a fully fledged Cadet. We were all so so proud of her. Her name was added to the Legacey Shield and she received a trophy and certificate which of course is framed. Below are some photos and also a few photos of Bec horse riding.

The Moore family have just had the annual birthday marathon, starting with Ben turning 18 on the 24th Jan, followed by Jessica turning 18 on the 13th Feb, then Rebecca on the 7th March, Chris on the 20th March and finally me on the 29th March. Trust me you CAN have too much cake. Thank goodness Cameron and Maddy are winter babies.

SCRAP-A-THON UPDATE

Wow, it's been so long since I've posted anything - my bad.

So much has happened in the last 4 months! Where has all the time gone, like May is just around the corner - scary stuff. I'll start with the Scrap-a-thon. We had a fantastic day, with lots of laughter, coffee and of course scrapbooking. I taught a few informal technique lessons and some beautifully creative ladies jumped in and tried the techniques for themselves.

We will be having our next Scrap-a-thon on Saturday the 30th May - from 9 am til 9pm at the Glenfield Community Centre, Wagga Wagga. If you'd like to join us just email me at email@scrapmore.com.au and I'll pop you onto the list the cost is $20 and I'll be teaching some classes this time, so keep an eye out for some sneek peeks.

My new little Tiida was crashed into by a 4WD while my husband was waiting at a round-a-bout. And she isn't even 1 year old : (

It looks worse than it was and thankfully we had it reapaired and back on the road one week after the accident.

Hello Again

Wow, how time flies, I haven't added anything since NOVEMBER and yet it only seems like yesterday????

I'll warn you this will be a lengthy post because so much has happened since November.

I entered the Maya Road home for the holidays competition and was chosen as one of their finalists. Iwas speechless (which is very unusual) and since then my entry has been made into a Maya Road recepie card. I've added a photo of my winning entry and of another item I made, just in case I didn't like the first one.

Crop Royale

Hello all, I know it's been a full week since Crop Royale, and it's taken me that long to recover from it!!!!

What can I say The Queen of the Crop herself - Lorraine Bate organised the fabuolus Crop Royale, it was amazing from the Royal greeting to the delicious cupcakes adorned with hand made crowns and butterflies, just beautiful. We were all treated like royalty. I still haven't finished all my projects (can't decide what photos to use) but as soon as I do I will post them. My favourite classes were all of them, but I have to say Sarah's class ROCKED (and not just because she's my bestie) Sarah taught a few cool techniques and used the wonderful MAYA ROAD products that I can't get enough of.

Lorretta Grayson taught a fantastic paper piecing class, something I haven't done in a long time and she has inspired me to get back into it, Lorretta is an amazing scrapbooker and an even better teacher. Lorretta if I were in QLD I'd be a regular at your classes. Well I could go on and on about the wonderful teachers, the girls from Bella were great, along with Jen Hall - amazing as always, along with Leanne Hand and Ree Roffey.

I really don't know how to describe this day to you all, other than happy, sad and bursting with pride. My beautiful girl was transformed into a beautiful princess. The year 12 formal had finally arrived, we searched and searched for the perfect dress, shoes, handbag, jewellery, and all the other little things that go with events such as this, and when it all came together it was (to me) perfection.

I won't go on and on, BUT I will let you know that Jessica and her partner Michael won the cutest couple (this was awarded on the night) and well what can I say "That's my Baby" LOL. Ok enough of the puffed out chest, hope you see these Rena'e and Karen, don't worry I will send you copies of all the photos all 223 of them - LOL

Jessica Graduates Year 12

Hi everyone, just a quick post letting you know Jessica has graduated year 12 - yay. We went to her graduation ceremony and then out to lunch, it was an emotional day for me, I can clearly remember her first day of Kindergarten, she squealed with delight and took off and I sat and cried. I can't believe 13 years of school is over for her (except for her HSC exams) which are from the middle of October until the 31st.

Last week was so so busy, with pedicures, manicures, waxing, tanning, braces being removed, plates being fitted, Hair, make-up and finally her formal on Friday the 26th September, I'll post about that later. We bought Jess a Pandora bracelet with a Aquarius charm and a graduation cap charm for her graduation present (no - No car) LOL. So I guess we are onto a new chapter in her life, something I'm just not ready for so wish me luck.

Spring is here

Spring is my favourite season, the colours, smells and warm days with cool breezes are just the best. But the blossoms in full bloom are always what I look forward to the most. The above photo is of the blossoms in my front garden, sadly the blossoms fade and the leaves take hold.

Maddy and Bec let me take a "posed" photo of them in front of the blossoms, I think I'll go for a walk and see if I can find some pink blossom trees.

Hi there, just thought I'd add a few of my favourite layouts I've done recently. Maybe by putting them here I will get motivated to do more.

I have some spare time on my hands finally! what a day. My youngest daughter Maddy played her first baseball game for the season and whacked the ball right past third base, which was just wonderful. She plays for Kellyville Kolts U14'3 and they won 17 - 13 against Carlingford. I am also now their manager (wish me luck) I know how to manager a netball team so really baseball can't be that much of a difference - can it???

I went shopping and picked up Jessica's dress for her year 12 formal (stunning) I'll post a photo soon the formal is on the 26th Sept.

Son number 1 is sick poor babe he's been in bed for two days and eldest daughter is out on a date, son number 2 is at a Airforce cadet camp all weekend, thank god it's not too cold out there tonight. Daughters 2 and 3 are bathed and watching a movie. And Hubbie is away for the weekend as well. So it's whine time a nice glass of chardonnay and working out how to post photos - LOL

The start of something new

Well, I have finally worked out how to do the whole blog thing. Hello and welcome to anyone who drops by my blog.
A quick introduction to those who don't know me;
Hi my name is Rachelle and I currently live in Sydney with my husband Cameron and five children Ben, Jessica, Chris, Rebecca and Maddy.
I have an online Scrapbooking Store where I specialize in kits, Off the Page items, classes and scrapping other peoples photographs.
I have been scrapping and teaching for 7 years and have been published in various magazines as well as being a DT member for Scrapboxx.
I love teaching what I call "freestyle" classes. In these classes my class gets to choose the papers and embellishments that MATCH THEIR photos instead of trying to match their photos to the papers on offer.
